Well, after long hours spent in the ER last night, and this morning, we finally have the correct diagnosis for Westin. He has a classic case of Croup. We had a slight scare that it was something more serious (that would have required hospitalization), so we had to go back this morning for more XRays, but prayers were answered and fortunatly, Croup is the worst of his problems at this point. He has been such a trooper!! He got a cool sticker that said he had an XRay today. Everyone just loved him, even though he screamed the entire time. Mommy could sure use a nap! He got a couple of steroid shots last night, and now is on a liquid steroid for the following 3 days, along with antibiotic. Boy, is it fun to give him his meds....not really, but I have to keep telling myself that! Here are some pics of our afternoon. He got some McDonalds French Fries as a reward for being so good. He was excited about the fries, but needless to say, was exhausted tonight. We'll keep you posted on his recovery. We have a follow up again tomorrow with the pediatrician. We seem to be playing the game of "can we go to the dr. everyday this week?" I'm just glad he is starting to feel better! It's worrysome, not only to me as a parent, but I cannot imagine how Matt feels, knowing he is helpless and there is nothing that he can do. His support is more than enough, and sometimes I don't think he realizes how much of a blessing it is just to hear his voice!! He's been wonderful. We love you Hunny!!
