Birthday Party

Here are some pictures of Hudson's two birthday parties. He wanted to invite everyone from his class, so we had to split the partying up and have a "neighborhood/family" party and a "school friends" party. Hudson is 4 now; and a boy that knows what he wants...

Birthday Party Prep

Hudson requested a LEGO theme birthday party this year. I immediately thought of some fun cake ideas I could do with the LEGO theme. My friend does some amazing work with, and makes her own fondant. With my friend's help we made 2 different cakes for Hudson's party, along with some cake pops! Let me start by showing some pictures of the prep work for the party, and our first cake (which was a flop); the first cake was supposed to be big LEGO pieces, but after the pieces did not turn out like we expected, we went with plan B. Ice Skating

Every Sunday afternoon West Point opens up the mens hockey rink for "open skate". Basically, if you have your own skates, the rink is open for an hour and a half of skating for free! It's a great way to spend our Sunday afternoons! The boys had never been on the ice until this year. We always let them begin with the "grandma walkers" provided. They basically are there to help them stay steady on the ice. By the end of every session, they are skating on their own! I see some hockey in our future. Hudson thinks it's fun to just fall down, so he spends much of his time on the ice, but he loves every minute of it. Westin, as always, is a bit more careful. Even Matt and I have a great time! You can't beat free family fun!
